In the efforts to clear up my complexion about a year ago, I decided I needed to amp up my cleansing routine. I wasn't willing to buy a Clarisonic at the time, so instead I picked up a Face Cleansing Brush from Sephora. I figured that the bristles would work as an exfoliator while more vigorously cleansing my face. The first few weeks, I actually broke out (and as usual, the emotional freak out came with it). But, upon some research, I learned this was normal (as is with a Clarisonic as well, according to Amanda). Also, I found the bristles quite hard and I wasn't so keen on this-- my younger sister had the same problems, but we've both agreed you get used to it and they do soften with time. Anyways, coming out of the primary stages, my face felt smoother and my breakouts were at bay.
I use this brush only before bed, just because the stiff bristles make my face a bit red after usage. In the mornings I use a foaming cleanser, and if you are in the same boat, you're better off using your hands, as I find you need more product if you use the brush (plus it's a pain in the ass to wash out after). All in all, I feel like I get a deeper clean and my results have proven well, so if you're not quite ready to take the plunge with the fancy (and expensive) electronic brushes, I recommend you give this one a go.

Those look exactly like dish scrub brushes. haha.:P I wonder if soaking it in hot/warm water before scrubbing your face with it would soften the bristles faster?
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's true! I'll tell her to try that!
